  • Birds are warm-blooded and highly organized animals. Their front limbs have the shape of the wings and body covered with feathers. All birds have a constant temperature of their bodies. It is supported through intensive processes of metabolism in the body.

    Birds are very common animals. They can be found everywhere in the globe. Their habitat are steppes and deserts, mountains and lands near the sea, woods and fields, quiet villages and cities. Birds can live not only in the wild nature, but near people.

    Swimming birds live near water, they are ducks, brant geese, geese, swans and others that live in our country.

    There are a huge amount of small ones, including songbirds, species of birds in the fields, steppes and forests. Starlings, nightingales, sparrows, chickadees, greenfinches, swallows, bullfinches and others belong to them.

    There are penguins that live on the shores of Antarctica and in some parts of Australia. These waterfowl do not fly, but feel great in the water.

    It’s possible to meet red junglefowl in the Southeast Asia forests. This bird belongs to the order of gallinaceous birds (chickens) and is a wild animal. Several thousands years ago they were domesticated, and all kinds of current domestic chickens has came from them.

    Parrots are the most interesting species among all other tropical birds. These birds have a very bright colors and their size can vary from very small, like the size of a walnut, to giant, which reach 1 meter in length.

    The flightless birds live in Africa and Australia. They are ostrich, emu and cassowary. Their weigh is about 60 kg and height is 150-170 cm.

    It’s possible to indicate a separate group of predator birds. Eagles, falcons, hawks, vultures, golden eagles and others are among them.

    Almost all species of birds are adapted very well for fliying. They have a streamlined body, a lightweight skeleton, air sinuses in the lungs, so on. They also have a keen eyesight and a good hearing.

    All birds bring invaluable benefits to our planet. Exactly most of them eat harmful insects, rodents and contribute to the resettlement of plants, carrying their seeds.
